ISG starts work on SCOBAN’s new headquarters within The Charlotte Square Collection

ISG has secured a contract to develop 9 Charlotte Square, Edinburgh, the new home of SCOBAN Plc, the planned private bank.

Work is now underway on the £1m renovation project following the signing of a 10-year lease on the property which forms part of The Charlotte Square Collection in the Capital’s west end. 


Public Realm improvements to Charlotte Square approved by the City of Edinburgh Council

16 months after being submitted to the City of Edinburgh Council, the proposal to significantly improve the public realm of Charlotte Square has secured all the necessary Council approvals.  Planning permission was granted in March 2012 but it has taken a further 12 months to secure the associated Traffic Orders. These were approved by Committee today.  The matter is now referred to Scottish Ministers for a final decision, however, it is hoped that this final approval can be secured in good time to permit works to commence in January 2014 with completion just 6 months later. 


First major letting for The Charlotte Square Collection

SCOBAN, the planned new private bank for the UK is pleased to announce the securing of 9 Charlotte Square, Edinburgh as its Head Office property. This is the first major letting within The Charlotte Square Collection.


The Charlotte Square Collection appoints Sir Robert McAlpine to redevelop former NTS HQ.

The Charlotte Square Collection has appointed Sir Robert McAlpine to undertake the redevelopment of 26-31 Charlotte Square, the properties acquired from the National Trust for Scotland, for which planning permission was secured in October last year.  Completion of the works under the £12m contract is expected in August 2013.  Nick Ball of Corran Properties, the developer behind the scheme, commented; “We’re delighted to have selected Sir Robert McAlpine for this incredibly important and historically sensitive work.  Their blend of contract experience coupled with a reputation for care and attention to detail is ideally suited to this project”.


The Charlotte Square Collection expands through further acquisitions

The Charlotte Square Collection now extends to 19 townhouses in the renowned Robert Adam designed Charlotte Square following the purchase of 3 additional properties, numbers 24, 25 and 32 on the south side of the Square.


Further investment in Charlotte Square by The Charlotte Square Collection

The managed estate which has invested substantially in the restoration of Charlotte Square has extended its ownership with the purchase of number 12 Charlotte Square from private Irish investors.  The Charlotte Square Collection, run by Edinburgh-based Corran Properties Limited, negotiated privately with the former owners to secure the property and increase the size of the estate to 16 townhouses.  The property is let to Edinburgh Partners.
