The recently formed commercial property estate, The Charlotte Square Collection, has extended its ownership in Charlotte Square with the purchase of six Georgian townhouses and subsidiary properties from The National Trust for Scotland (NTS). The properties, previously occupied by the NTS as its head office, have been bought with vacant possession and the Collection will now immediately work on plans for their sensitive renovation as high-quality offices.
The purchase coincides with the appointment of Corran Properties Limited as Asset and Development Manager on behalf of the estate. The purchase extends the Collection’s ownership to 14 townhouses on the Square following its earlier acquisition of 8 townhouses on the west side of the Square from JO Hambro last year.
Nick Ball, Director of Corran Properties, commented: “We are delighted to have secured this fabulous block of properties giving them the very best chance of a sustainable future within the Charlotte Square Collection. We will now get to work on preparing plans for their conversion to offices of the highest quality and specification in line with the overall vision to re-establish Charlotte Square as the premier business address in Edinburgh.”
